Boncoura 66
Real vintage to pass on to the future, made with a long-time love, familiarity and commitment to vintage jeans.
Introduction.
Boncoura jeans were the catalyst for my rekindling of fashion fever as I entered my fifties, and the purchase of Boncoura 66s reaffirmed my interest in jeans and led to my current search for 501XXs and other styles.
The jeans of Boncoura which made up the ideal jeans by being familiar with vintage 501 and understanding both good and bad. 66 is a jeans with a standard tapered line that goes well with any outfit. This time it is an introduction of “66”.
First bought rigid denim without a reason
In my late 40s, my interest in fashion waned and I had more and more opportunities to go to the countryside to look after my parents, so I naturally spent my days wearing easy sportswear for a while.
At first, I bought easy one-size-fits-all cut-offs.
Then I look for a plain pocket T-shirt to wear in the summer. I find a shop with an interesting selection and visit the shop. At Post78, I buy a selection of Camber pocket T-shirts in different colours. I have a chat with the owner of the shop and ask him to show me some of the interesting products on display. Among them, there are several kinds of cut-off denim. The cut-off denim I have has become quite painful, so I ask the owner about cut-off denim and he recommends it, so I buy Boncoura’s rigid cut-off denim.
Post78 suggests that I buy one size larger, 32inch, so that I can wear it comfortably for my first purchase. The denim is rigid and Post78 gives it a one-wash and dry to prevent it from shrinking and changing size. The owner tells me many stories about Boncoura’s products, and his particulars are interesting and make me interested in Boncoura’s products. The cut-off denim I bought is very useful together with the Camber pocket T-shirt I bought because of its rigid denim-like texture and ease of use.
As I originally love jeans, I also recommend denim for the autumn/winter season, so I go into early autumn and buy Boncoura 66. The owner suggests that I choose one size larger, 32inch, with a tapered line 66, so that I can wear them comfortably on a daily basis. At first, because it is rigid, colour shift and hardness are a little concerned, but the more I put it on, the more it fits to the body, very comfortable to put on, and the frequency of use is also high and it plays a great role. I wear them for everyday use without thinking much about colour fading, but I feel the fun of jeans by wearing them.
It is my vice that I felt the interest of jeans by wearing rigid 66s, but jeans fever is rekindled and I am interested in original Levi’s 501 66s, Big-E and XXs. I started to look into the details, production dates and stories of the original 501s, which I had never been interested in before, and I started to see the original 501s that I wanted to wear.
When I buy a pair of 501XXs, I am particular about the size and choose a size 30inch, which is the perfect size. I used to think that just-size 501s would be difficult to wear because I used to wear slightly loose-fitting sizes, but when I actually tried them on, they were comfortable and styled well and my jeans size perception changed a little, and I changed my habit of wearing just-size jeans rather than wearing one-size larger jeans loosely. It changes my habit of wearing jeans that are just the right size rather than one size too big and loose.
I got hooked on the fun of vintage jeans with the 501XX I bought, and after that I got another pair of 501XX, Lee 101Z and other vintage jeans, which I love to wear.
It is one of the pleasures of vintage jeans to keep them in good condition, and to maintain the exquisite colour and texture as much as possible over the years, it is better not to wash them as much as possible, and there is less chance to wear them in midsummer, when they get dirty with sweat. Therefore, we think about buying some jeans to wear in midsummer.
Among them, I liked Boncoura’s 32inch 66s, so I go to Post78 and try on the 30inch 66s in just the right size. When I try them on, the size is just right and the originally beautiful tapered line makes my legs look even more beautiful. The size is perfect, so I buy it on the spot.
The Boncoura 66 I bought in this way will be the Boncoura 66 I introduce this time.
Real vintage with attention to detail and a good size that anyone can enjoy
I didn’t think too much about the first pair of 66’s I bought, 32inch, but the colour of the rigid was good and the size was loose and very easy to wear. The knowledge of the details that I acquired when I bought 501XX made me realise the quality of Boncoura’s 66’s and the care that goes into making them.
The manufacturing process, indigo colour, dyeing, stitching and use of yellow and orange, and leather patches are also authentic leather patches. In addition, there is sticking to details such as buttons and rivets, and all the exclusive ones are prepared, and sticking to the production of making it with the new one improved from the viewpoint of Boncoura from the vintage 501 which is respected comes into view.
When you buy Boncoura 66 of the just size and put it on, you can understand well the goodness of the shape that the particularity to the making has sublimated.
The tapered line is exquisite and the way the crease enters is beautiful (the position where the crease enters is where you want it to be, based on the idea of denim mania-like colour fading).
The wrinkles are very well calculated in terms of the styling (from a fashion point of view, if the wrinkles are placed here, the legs will visually look slimmer and longer).
At my height, the length is just right, and I can wear them rolled up or not, and both look very cool together.
I can easily wear them one size up without losing styling, and they look very nicely styled in a true-to-size version. The design of this area is made so that anyone can enjoy the world of authentic, vintage 501s from new, with a wide frontage and beautiful styling even if the size changes depending on the body shape.
I myself have never worn vintage rigid (new) denim, so this is a story from my imagination, but the Boncoura denim introduced this time was made with the idea that if there had been new rigid denim back then, it would have looked like this, and by wearing it and loving it for a few years, you will be able to enjoy the world of vintage 501s.
The brand is made with a particular focus on size and design, so that many people can enjoy the fun of aging like vintage Levi’s denim. This is what I think of as real vintage, a dream come true for vintage clothing lovers who dream of making their own vintage jeans by buying them new and ageing them in the same way that vintage jeans age, which cannot be reproduced, This is the reason why I love Boncoura products, not only jeans.
I’m introducing the 66 this time, but the XX is also very attractive and I hope to introduce it on another occasion.
Examples of wear
I have only washed them once, so they are almost brand new. The colour fading and so on is still to come, so I would like to introduce them again when they get a good texture by wearing them.

Conclusion.
Boncora 66 tapered denim was the catalyst for rekindling my jeans and fashion fever. I am familiar with vintage 501s through love and years of use, I know the good and the bad, and while I am thoroughly particular about every detail to realise the dream of vintage clothes lovers who want to wear vintage jeans from new, I also know that they can be enjoyed by everyone, These are excellent jeans that can be enjoyed by everyone from vintage clothing lovers to those who are not so particular but want to try on cool jeans.
The jeans of Boncora can be enjoyed for a long time as the colour fades and you can enjoy the vintage denim for yourself. The products other than jeans are also made with a special attention to detail that will make you groan if you like American vintage clothing, and I am also a big fan of the clothes that Boncora develops.
This time, I’m introducing tapered jeans, but I also own chinos, sweatshirts, fisherman’s jumpers, white denim and black denim, which I hope to introduce at another time.
